Waited forever for these shoes after multiple delays, and I gotta say they weren’t worth the wait. They look pretty good, but it’s definitely a case of form over function. The soles are INCREDIBLY thin. I can literally feel little things like pebbles or small debris under my foot when I’m walking around. It’s a really unnerving feeling, like a rock or something mildly pointy would just easily puncture the sole. Also the tongue of the shoes keeps bunching up under the laces whenever I walk despite me tying the shoes really tightly. Like I said they do look nice but outside of that I wouldn’t get them again.

1587 provided an unrealistic shipping time estimate causing the sneakers to miss my wife’s birthday, for which they were intended. In researching this later it appears that 1587 elected to use a cheap and unreliable shipping method to Hawaii, i.e., USPS Ground Advantage, which takes 4-6 weeks on average. Most apparel retailers, particularly those selling high end items, offer USPS Priority Mail or UPS/Fedex, with more reliable tracking and faster shipping times, even if it’s at an additional cost. Can’t comment on the shoes because we haven’t gotten them yet.
So comfortable right out of the box, these are amazing shoes!

Best sneaks, ever. Love the quality, the fit and the image. Bought them as a gift for my feet and legs in anticipation of walking again after recently having hip replacement surgery. Back at work now at Chicago Fireboat Tours, and photo was taken on board the Fred A. Busse, retired engine #41 were I serve as narrator and guide doing architectural and history tours on the Chicago River and Lake Michigan waterfront. Yes, those are the LNY Snake's on my feet, and purchased in the Year of the Snake, a time of transformation, change, and rejuvenation, for me they couldn't be more appropriate. I absolutely love them, and they are part of my everyday gear.

I wanted to wear my AP87's a few times before leaving a review. After a few outings in them, I can say that these are incredibly comfortable shoes that adapt well to any situation from work to play. Soft leather inside and out create a great fit. I followed the advice from other reviews and sized down. And even though they're all white, so far, any scuffs on the sole or leather wipe off easily. I have no regrets picking up these shoes and love that these represent my culture, my style...and the year of the snake!
I LOVE my AP87 Sumi’s! After ordering a different pair that arrived looking like they had been worn and returned, I messaged 1587 and Adam was very apologetic. I received this pair for free and he threw in the snake pin as well! These are fantastic shoes and extremely well-made. There’s little to no break in time and they’re very comfortable walking around the city. I plan on wearing them to my upcoming conferences and love how they dress up casual outfits. From the moment I hit purchase to the moment I've hit done on this review, my experience with 1587 has been awesome. The fit is terrific, love the classic style and these shoes don't do something almost EVERY other pair of sneakers I own have done...make that gap around the arch area when I walk where the sides bulge out. These are a truly well designed, well made shoe that I will be wearing for a good long while...that is until they release a pair with purple on the back...and then these red ones get a break...for a bit...but yeah...hint hint...purple!!!

Shoe leather is soft as butter. Clean look with a color pop on the heel. Have two pair of 1587s now. And love them 🏆
I love these shoes and the quality of them being full leather inside and out. The leather resists creasing as you can see in this photo as I have had them for 3 weeks now and I’m still rocking no creasing even when I don’t try to prevent that in anyway.
Trying not to wear these tk everything so I can keep them perfectly white!
The shoe looks amazing! Not the biggest fan of the shoe laces it gets undone easily and not a fan of the texture. Not sure if it will go away but the left insole squeaks when I take a step. It also feels like top of my toe gets pinched whenever I take a step not sure if that will go away with use and softening of the leather. For now it is digging into my foot.
Love the fact that it is Asian inspired and from a Middlebury alum. Our son graduated from Middlebury and I'm thinking of sending him a pair.
These really go so well with a variety of occasions, from casual to formal. They're sleek, clean, and most importantly, comfortable. I've worn these for extended periods of time and my feet were still good by the end of those lengths. And I know they will get even better over time as the leather conforms to my feet. The white leather is beautiful and extremely easy to clean. I just take a damp cloth and wipe down after every wear. With a powerful mission statement AND very high quality shoes, I will continue to support 1587! Shoes can really make or break an outfit, and I feel empowered that these are Asian-American owned.
Far and away the most comfortable, durable, and lowest maintenance sneaker I have ever owned. Perfect fit for my narrow feet and the no-crease leather is for real. Let’s get behind the Unapologetically Asian theme. It’s something we can all get behind. 1587 forever!

These are great shoes! So well made and they fit like they were custom made for me. Comfortable and sleek.
Stumbled upon 1587 Sneakers on IG. I was immediately impressed with the ideologically of what this brand stood for. I was even more excited with the “look” they had to offer. I decided to pick up a pair of the “White Mountain” Sneakers. Prior to ordering I contacted their customer service and spoke to Adam about the fit and quality. Reviews say the sneakers ran slightly larger. I decided to go ahead and purchase my size 7 (no half-sizes). The fit was slightly larger, I went ahead and bought a Dr Scholl standard size cushion insole, It made up the 1/2” larger I’ve worn the sneakers a few days now and I must say….they’re really comfortable, insole perfectly made up the difference and virtually no break in time! Oh, I also picked up the “Ah” Black heavy weight tee and “1587” cap…. Thanks Adam
Comfortable and looks great..
I have a pair of Common Projects Original Achilles White, and the quality and comport of the AP87 White Mountain is above it at half of the cost. Overall, it looks great and very comfortable. I usually wear size 10 on sneakers but it was recommended to size down, so I ordered 9 and it's a perfect fit.
